Gnarly's eatery was established in 2012 to satisfy the hunger of the fine food tastes of the Joliet community.  We are dedicated to providing the highest quality coupled with an original flare.  Our mission is to provide gourmet food in an atmosphere that anyone can feel comfortable in.

The Legend of Gnarly....

Once upon a time in a far-away land, there lived a well-to-do young lad by the name of Gnarly.  His parents were old school hippies who had made a fortune by developing technology that made vegan food edible; even for the surliest carnivore.  Since Gnarly was raised on kelp and wheatgrass alone, he was a very scrawny lad...with a pasty green complexion.  All the kids at the school made fun of him which lead him to find solace in his colossal toy collection.  One day at lunch a bully tripped Gnarly and landed him face-first in a supreme pizza.  The next day, having realized how delicious animal protein can be, he sold his beloved toy collection to pay for a pilgrimage to Italy, the birthplace of pizza.  He travelled the entire country carefully observing the ancient craft of pizza delivery.  In 2012 he made his triumphant return to the United States; to Joliet, the very city in which he was born.  Filled with a sense of great pride and fat with every variety of cheese ever invented, he opened a restaurant unlike any other.  He bought his toy collection back and decorated his sanctuary.  Boasting the greatest pizza recipe ever created, Gnarly knew that success is not guaranteed by genius alone.  The customer is always right when it comes to business.  So ask yourself, "Is this the Gnarliest pizza place you've ever patronized?"  Be open and honest with our staff.  They've been instructed to be open and honest with you.  Gnarly only wants one thing: for his place to be your place.
